The first order of business for theWashington Values Alliance after the 2009 legislative session may very well be to run a referendum similar to Proposition 8 in California. Although we cannot amend the Washington State Constitution via Initiative or Referendum, we are able to override the legislature's marriage equality bill this year via that process if it is, indeed, passed by the House and Senate and signed by the Governor.
We are enthusiastically endorsing and promoting Representiave Matt Shea's House Bill 1688, which would address aboriton procedures or treatments performed on minor females and females subject to guardianship. We commend the outstanding freshman legislator from Spokane for his courage and willingness to take on Planned Parenthood as well as their liberal government and media enablers with this reasonable and common sense measure.
For the 2009 - 10 Legislative Sessions, The Washington Values Alliance is enthusiastically endorsing and promoting the House Joint Resolution 4204 (Insuring only marriage between a man and a woman is legally recognized in Washington) and HB 1980 (Makes Void All Provisions of Domestic Partnerships as established in 2007 and 2008).
We commend Representives Matt Shea and Jim McCune for their courage and willingness to defend Washington State from the assualt on traditional values by the homosexual lobby.
To promote and reinforce the fundamental American principles of individual liberty, personal responsibility, free enterprise and limited government; to encourage respect for the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Washington; and to vigorously defend human life, the institution of marriage, religious freedom, and Judeo-Christian values.
Purpose
To inform and educate Washingtonians on the issues that impact the well being of the traditional family and to coordinate and strengthen current advocacy efforts on behalf of families and allied organizations across the state.
